SoluWorks have formed partnership with SolusOS, with a view to increased involvement in the future.  This partnership will enable SolusOS to grow as a project bringing  professional backing and stabilty.

Update: 64-bit And Future

Regarding 64-bit Edition

Just a quick update so everyone is informed, I’ve just begun setting up a 64-bit development rig. I don’t want people to wait any longer than they have to for the 64-bit edition. I’ll be working from tonight onwards, its essentially a case of rebuilding most of our packages for 64-bit and then putting a test ISO together. The team and myself are confident we can get a release out this week.

We will need extensive feedback, so if you’re on the IRC channels please be prepared to be plagued with requests :)

SolusOS 2 - The Future

So what’s happening after Eveline? SolusOS 2 will be based on Debian Wheezy, which will become the next stable release of Debian in the not too distant future. We’ve been asked by people to use MATE, but we see little point in this. We intend to remain compatible with the rest of the Gnome world.

SolusOS Eveline 32-bit Released

I am pleased to announce the final release of SolusOS Eveline 32-bit Edition. All issues have now been corrected and installing from a LiveUSB stick is now possible, via dd or unetbootin. SolusOS is based on Debian Stable and features recent applications, as well as working out of the box with
most hardware, multimedia and will automatically install proprietary graphics drivers if you wish.
