SolusOS - An Ad Free Experience

As the title suggest, SolusOS is now an ad-free zone. I expect most people will be wondering why.. :)

Quite simply, advertising generates SolusOS such little income it is feasible to say we can operate without it. Perhaps sacrifice £200 a year at most. When you visit a website, the single most offputting experience is usually advertisements.
Well, we don't want them anymore. We don't want our users to have their experience impeded by adverts that we cannot control. Recently we became aware that Google AdSense settings had zero effect, in some cases even displaying adult advertisements.

This is unacceptable, to say the least. The only time we will now ever display any form of advertising will be in a secured contract with a sponsor, which must be mutually beneficial for both parties. Why have adverts if it doesn't pay for anything? :) So, you can now enjoy browsing the main website and forums, safe in the knowledge you'e not going to be "attacked" by dating adverts telling you whos in your area tonight....

Continuing that spirit, most will notice that the PayPal button has gone. It will be reintroduced, but will only exist on the "Support Us" page. Why? Having that button on the main website, to me, is kinda like walking down the highstreet browsing the shop windows, and that guy comes up asking you if you're interested in  Blah Blah Service for Blah Blah Great Deal. Nobody needs that doing to them.
