SolusOS Eveline RC3 Released

I am pleased to announce the immediate availability of SolusOS Eveline Release Candidate 3

Many new features, fixes, and software versions have made their way into RC3. We hope you enjoy using this release. Please note that you can upgrade to final from the Release Candidates when the time is ready.

Glowing Review of SolusOS RC2

Often I come across someone who wants SolusOS explained to them. And 99% of the time I tell them, “I’m a developer. How can I tell you how its gonna be for a user?”. Well, thankfully, someone has finally done that for me. An email just turned up in my inbox notifying me of a podcast from Steve McLaughlin. About 54 minutes in, he gives his opinion on SolusOS. Needless to say I was very impressed, I almost forgot it was my project!

New Changelogs Subdomain

From now on all the SolusOS package changelogs will be available at http://changelogs./. This was a required infrastructure change for the new update manager. It will pull changelogs for both SolusOS and Debian repositories. The next step will be a patches server for delta packages.

New SolusOS Upgrade Path Under Way

Please see http://wiki./index.php/Upgrade_Path for information about the new upgrade path that will be introduced for RC3.

Users of RC1 and earlier will be automatically updated to RC2 tonight through some repository changes.

SolusOS Joins SilverIRC

As most of you know we’ve been using SilverIRC for our IRC channel. However most of you will not know that I am one of the founding members of SilverIRC. I am proud today to announce that we are officially part of the network again, rejoining as co-founder status. You can connect to SilverIRC using irc./ or just / in X-Chat.
